For tuning up the action, Dennis Lee's Combat Tweaks modВ doesn't make any sweeping changes, but hammers out the worst of the weird kinks in the game's balance. The good news is that the Fixpack mod is fully compatible with most graphical and mechanical overhauls available for the game - here's just a couple that don't alter the feel of Origins too much.ДЇor visuals, the Theta HD mod by 'Rennn' is essential. It's still a fine sixty-odd hours of comically blood-drenched fantasy adventuring, but it could be a little better. The bad news is that means that the wonky balance and occasionally naff textures will still rear their ugly heads.

The mage files are all titled 'gen_im_cth_mag'. *The mage clothing files are all located in Improved Atmosphere > Global > Items > UTI > Clothing. I was even able to replicate the crash (save wouldn't even load). There's a single female mage in Denerim's Market Place that may still be wearing the buggy robe in your game if you have an older version of the mod. Indeed, it seems the models for the new robes are incompatible with one or several of the female gesture animations, thus the game crashes when a character attempts to use the conflicting animation.' The game may still crash if either Morrigan or Wynne have one of the three new robes (Mage Tutor Robe, Dark Robe, or Apostate Clothes) equipped and are not being controlled by the player. All it does is unequip one of the new mage robes (found in the Apostate Clothes folder) from female mages. On the mod page: 'A temporary fix for the crash people are experiencing in Denerim and the Mage Tower during the Mage Origin section is available.

In my experience (and I talked to the mod author about this when reporting the same crashing issues), it's the new female mage robes that are almost always the cause of crashing.
